About the role
The Attorney in this position is primarily responsible for performing administrative prosecution of violations for assigned professions under the jurisdiction of the department including Chapter 455, Florida Statutes, and all applicable practice acts. This position is supervised and works under the direction of the Attorney Supervisor for Division of Professions Legal Unit.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes violations of statutes or administrative rules for regulated professions and recommends appropriate action;
- Researches/drafts/reviews/amends pleadings, complaints, motions, dismissal orders, consent orders, settlement agreements and memoranda of law;
- Negotiates settlements;
- Reviews, edits and evaluates proposed rule packages;
- Responds to consumer and industry inquiries;
- Analyzes bills;
- Compiles exhibits;
- Prepares witnesses to testify;
- Takes and defends depositions;
- Initiates and responds to discovery;
- Presents in court and in large groups;
- Recognizes and acts on emerging issues and shifting priorities;
- Prioritizes work;
- Communicates effectively;
- Conducts legal research;
- Works independently and in a team environment;
- Travels as necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license;
- Must have a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association;
- Must be a current member of The Florida Bar or pass the Florida Bar exam within one year of appointment to this position.

Salary: $1,751.65 - 2,448.00 BIWEEKLY
