About the role
Responsible for performing all supervisor duties over the custodial station attendant department and its employees.
Responsibilities
- Promotes guest service to ensure customer satisfaction through prompt, efficient, and quality staff service
- Oversees and maintains custodial operations on shift, including appropriate staffing for business needs
- Responsible for custodial operations within ATP as well as outside in the fuel area, propane station, parking lot, etc.
- Responsible for supervision of staff, conducting performance evaluations, counseling, training, and disciplinary actions
- Develops, monitors, and routinely inspects daily cleaning assignments against established performance standards, including cleaning bathrooms, walls, carpets, parking lots, fuel areas, and other assigned areas
- Communicates with co-workers and manager, regarding operational concerns, staffing needs, maintenance needs, and/or reports and participates in meeting business goals and objectives
- Promotes effective communication through daily communication with all employees, in staff meetings, informational logs, e-mail, written materials, etc.
- Complies with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc. Administers policies appropriately and consistently
- Routinely monitors shifts, and addresses priorities
- Participates in staff training and development by assessing daily functions and performance training needs and communicating needs with the manager
- Safeguards equipment, tools, and materials safely
- Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests. Promptly addresses hazards and reports all concerns to the manager
- Promotes internal guest service standards by treating employees with courtesy and respectful behavior
- Other related duties as assigned or directed
Qualifications
- One (1) year of supervisory experience
- Two (2) years of retail or convenience store experience
- Experience with cleaning equipment, materials, and cleaning practices
- Knowledge of the SDS book and its content utilization
- High school diploma or GED or 10 years’ experience
- General knowledge of computers and a thorough understanding of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
- Employment history that demonstrates dependability and longevity
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written, ensuring the ability to read and follow directions on equipment, cleaning chemicals, and written instructions
- Requires strong problem-solving, decision-making, and cash-handling skills
- Reliable to work all shifts including day shift, swing shift, weekends, holidays, afternoons, and evenings
- Stand and/or walk for long periods; perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; and maneuver and lift a minimum of 40lbs. chest high
- Requires a criminal history background check
- Must be at least 18 years of age
