ATLAS Paraprofessional (Part-Time) - High School

Responsibilities

• Build positive, supportive relationships with students participating in the ATLAS program.
• Provide academic support, mentoring, and encouragement to students during program activities.
• Afford supervision and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Reinforce expectations for student behavior and program participation.
• Support students with organization, study skills, and completion of assigned work.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and program staff to support student success.

Qualifications

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
• Experience working with high school-aged students is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students and staff.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.

Pay

The starting wage for this position is currently $25 per hour.

Schedule

This position works collaboratively with program staff to promote student engagement, responsibility, and personal growth. This would be a part-time hourly position, working approximately 2.5-3 hours per school day in the mornings.
