Athletics Operations Internship

About the role

The Park School is a Pre‑K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA dedicated to excellence in education. The school is seeking an Athletics Operations Intern for the winter season (November–February). Interns should generally be available between approximately 2:30–5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This role may be combined with an available coaching vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Support Park School’s overall athletic program and serve students, coaches, staff, families, and the broader school community.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics to uphold athletic program policies and procedures.
• Assist with managing practice and game‑day operations, including event setup and breakdown, operating the scoreboard/scorebook, confirming officials and transportation, and uniform/equipment inventory and distribution.
• Perform additional duties consistent with the position as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in Sports Management or a similar program.
• Background or experience in athletics.
• Experience coaching at the youth, high school, or college level is preferred.
• Professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
• Reliable, responsible, and detail‑oriented.
• Committed to fostering and contributing to a positive team culture.
• Able to communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain it upon hiring.

Schedule

Winter season (November–February), approximately 2:30–5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. May be combined with a coaching vacancy.
