About the role

The Athletics Marketing Game Day Assistant will assist the Athletics Marketing Department in executing a variety of game day tasks surrounding the experience for both spectators and players. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).

Responsibilities

  • Aid in the preparation of specific game day tasks.
  • Coordinate and execute in-game promotions (selecting contestants, bringing them on field/court/etc.).
  • Set up and take down game day equipment.
  • Engage with fans in a friendly manner.
  • Show knowledge of the event taking place.
  • Assist with handling Bruno, the mascot, when necessary.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn the basic rules of sporting events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Weekday afternoon/evening and weekend availability.
  • A team-oriented mindset.
  • A desire to learn.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

Skills

  • Event planning and management.
  • Customer service and interaction.
  • Basic knowledge of sports rules and terminology.

Pay

This is an 11-month part-time, seasonal position.

Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal position with weekday afternoon/evening and weekend availability.
