About the Role
The Gameday Stats Assistant serves as the official stats taker at live home athletic events to be distributed to GoldenGrizzlies.com, ESPN, NCAA, and other media entities. This role is responsible for taking/inputting accurate stats into the NCAA Livestats Genius software based on the live action in-game.
Responsibilities
- Assist in game set-up and tear-down of stat technology/computers on gameday
- Input or call stats on Genius program accurately and efficiently
- Print and/or deliver stat boxscores as needed
- Take direction quickly from SID and game operations staff
- Maintain professionalism throughout game to show neutrality and unbiased stat taking
Requirements
- High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to learn LiveStats through NCAA Genius for multiple sports (training provided)
- Experience working in high-pressure live event environments with real-time direction
- Ability to remain focused, professional, and neutral in team support for 3–5-hour events
- Strong communication skills and ability to respond quickly to in-game changes
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Ability to work consistently with athletic event schedules and last-minute changes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure
- Professional, reliable, and team-oriented approach in live event settings
- Resides within a 50-mile radius of Rochester, MI, to accommodate short-notice opportunities
- Ability to follow NCAA, Conference, and University rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- Previous experience working stats with NCAA Livestats through Genius
- Familiarity with collegiate athletics and game flow for sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and softball
- Experience working within Division I athletics or similar high-level sports environments
- Strong understanding of NCAA game structure and in-game timing
- Experience working with live production teams and in-arena entertainment environments
