Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: This experienced athletic training position supports orthopedic physicians and surgeons. Responsibilities include clinical evaluations, operating room assistance, patient care, ordering tests, therapeutic procedures, patient education, documentation, and administrative tasks. Surgical responsibilities include assisting surgeons, preparing and assisting with injection procedures, performing cast applications, and handling administrative duties.
Qualifications
- NBCOT Orthopedic Technologist Certification with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer with one (1) year of surgical experience, or completion of an Athletic Training Residency Program and one (1) year of surgical experience.
- Completion of NBCOT OT-Surgery Certification within six (6) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association.
Physical Requirements
- Up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally)
- 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently)
- 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
- Lifting up to 25 lbs
- Occasional to frequent standing & walking, occasional sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
Environmental Factors
- Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks.
- Exposures include blood-borne pathogens, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals, gases, fumes, vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shocks, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
