About the role

The Athletic Trainer role provides athletic training and clinical support services in sports medicine and orthopedic practice. This includes working closely with the Physical Therapy department and providing athletic training services to collegiate and high school youth programs. If the Athletic Trainer has obtained the Orthopedic Technologist Certification (OTC), they will also provide surgical assisting duties as directed by the orthopedic surgeon.

Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training and clinical support services in sports medicine and orthopedic practice
  • Work closely with the Physical Therapy department
  • Provide athletic training services to collegiate and high school youth programs
  • If certified, provide surgical assisting duties as directed by the orthopedic surgeon

Requirements

  • Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as an Athletic Trainer required or in compliance with the state practice act
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
  • BOC certification
  • NBCOT certification (eligible or application in process)
  • Casting certification required or needs to obtain within six months of start date

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training required (graduation from CAATE accredited program)
  • Master’s degree preferred

Skills

  • Knowledge of athletic training principles and practices
  • Ability to provide clinical support services in sports medicine and orthopedic practice
  • Experience working with collegiate and high school youth programs
  • Ability to provide surgical assisting duties as directed by the orthopedic surgeon if certified

Pay

The base range for this position is $61,256.00 to $82,867.20 per year. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
