Responsibilities
- Perform both clinical and administrative tasks under the guidance of the attending physician.
- Schedule appointments using the EMR system as needed.
- Review and adjust provider schedules to optimize patient access.
- Assist with patient navigation in FORCE therapeutics during surgical care.
- Troubleshoot patient concerns and collaborate with practice staff and other Copley Managers or staff as needed.
- Provide patient education regarding preoperative and post-operative issues.
- Apply knowledge of DME products and their application to casting specific to the surgeons' needs.
- Work collaboratively with Medical Assistants, RNs, and Providers in all appropriate procedures.
- Provide associated documentation and/or education materials to patients as requested.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all team members, identifying appropriate communication channels for patient needs.
- Ensure adequate stock of appropriate supplies and work with other staff to maintain inventory.
- Follow hospital policy in dealing with outside vendors and salespeople regarding new product considerations and in-services.
- Perform appropriate and safe clinical patient treatment, including necessary modalities and therapeutic activities as indicated by patient status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from an accredited program by CAAHEP or its successor organization.
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation setting.
- Experience in orthopedic clinic settings, including managing schedules and working directly with Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Physicians.
- Vermont license as an Athletic Trainer.
- National Certification from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
- Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
- Ability to practice independently and as part of the Rehabilitation team, performing evaluations, treatments, prevention, and conditioning tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in the health care and education environments for athletes of all ages, individually and in teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and implement prevention and conditioning programs in the community according to organizational guidelines.
- Ability to multitask in the clinic setting to assist in coordinating clinic services.
- Computer-based clinical documentation skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards for all patient care services, including documentation and billing.
