About the Role

We are seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide direct and indirect care to patients at Duke Orthopaedic Clinic located in Raleigh, NC.

Responsibilities

• Perform appropriate patient intake for a variety of medical and musculoskeletal conditions, including but not limited to: thorough history of condition or injury, chief complaint, assessment of pain level, completion and/or review of past medical history, family history, social history, and medication reconciliation.
• Perform appropriate physical examination per patient history and chief complaint, including but not limited to: palpation of the affected and unaffected areas, range of motion testing, strength testing/manual muscle testing/dynamic muscle testing, myotome/dermatome testing, ligamentous stress testing, or functional testing.
• At the direction of the supervising physician, perform appropriate point-of-care testing and order appropriate diagnostic testing or follow-up care.
• Document all aspects of evaluation and testing appropriately within the Electronic Health Record.
• Collaborate with the supervising physician to develop an appropriate plan of care for treatment/interventions.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager or HCA.
• This position will require travel to Apex 1x per week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training or equivalent from a CAATE-accredited program.
• NATABOC Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association-Board of Certification) is required.
