Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient charts and collect patient history in a clinic setting.
  • Perform physician order entry by protocol and prepare physician orders for signature.
  • Perform clinical procedures, including:
    • Aseptic procedures
    • Taking vital signs
    • Preparing patients for the physician’s care
    • Performing venipunctures and nonintravenous injections
    • Observing and reporting patients’ signs or symptoms
    • Assisting with patient examinations or treatments
    • Brace fitting, casting, and splinting
    • Gait training
    • DME and exercise training
  • Create individualized exercise and rehab programs.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and other ancillary tests.
  • Assist with coordinating testing, physical therapy, physician referrals, medication prescriptions, and follow-up visits as recommended by the physician.
  • Document all patient interactions in the electronic health record.
  • Act as a liaison between physician, clinical support, and administrative staff to promote effective and efficient patient care.
  • Serve as a medical scribe to the physician.
  • Serve as medical staff under the supervision of an MD in the routine prevention and treatment of medical injuries, as well as providing first aid and emergent care during athletic and community events.
  • Perform sports physicals, healthcare screenings, and community education.
  • Support clinic efficiency by assisting in other areas, such as:
    • Administrative tasks (making appointments, scanning records, coordinating care with outside providers, obtaining prior authorizations, etc.)
    • Development of procedures and protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program.
  • Current Florida Athletic Trainer License.
  • Current BOC Certification.
  • Current BLS/CPR & AED Certification.
  • Successful completion of Florida-required fingerprinting and background screening.

Skills

  • Experience in orthopedic or sports medicine practice (preferred).
  • EMR/Epic experience (preferred).
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) (preferred).

Schedule

Regular Full time, Day shift (United States of America).
