Athletic Trainer - Bemidji State University
About the role
The primary responsibility of this Athletic Trainer position is to provide comprehensive athletic training services at Bemidji State University. This includes evaluating, planning, instructing, and monitoring athletic training programs to ensure athletes can prevent injuries, restore function, and achieve peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend care plans for athletes based on their injuries and physical conditions.
- Implement and monitor rehabilitation and reconditioning programs tailored to each athlete's diagnosis and condition.
- Document and interpret information from various sources such as medical records, physician reports, and family input.
- Utilize appropriate testing and evaluation techniques to assess injuries, including but not limited to concussions.
- May conduct concussion testing (neurocognitive, balance, vestibular/oculomotor).
Requirements
- Athletic Trainer certification from the Board of Certification.
- Licensure and/or registration in the state(s) of practice, or multi-state licensure privileges as required by the position.
- Appropriate education level as per state requirements.
- Driver's license if required by facility needs, meeting all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category I or III drivers.
Qualifications
- Education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification.
- Licensed and/or registered in state(s) of practice.
- Multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
- Driver's license if required by facility needs.
Skills
- Knowledge of athletic training principles and practices.
- Ability to assess and treat athletic injuries.
- Proficiency in using assistive devices to prevent injuries.
- Effective communication skills to explain safety rules and treatment plans.
- Ability to document and interpret medical information accurately.
- Experience with concussion testing and management.

Pay
$22.50 - $34.50 per hour, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Schedule
Varies, typically full-time with 40 hours per week.
