Athletic Trainer

Athletico provides physical therapy services with a mission to deliver life-changing care. This full-time position is based at Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst, IL.

About the role

Reporting to the AT Manager, the Associate Athletic Trainer will collaborate with medical professionals, Athletic Directors, coaches, and athletes to assess medical conditions and develop plans to meet athlete goals. Responsibilities span prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, reconditioning, organization, administration, and professional responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Apply protective or injury-preventive devices such as tape, bandages, and braces.
• Recognize and evaluate injuries at assigned affiliate or clinic and provide first aid or emergency care to injured athletes/patients.
• Develop and carry out rehabilitation programs for injured athletes.
• Plan and implement comprehensive programs to prevent future injury and illnesses with athletes.
• Perform administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records of injuries and writing reports on injuries and treatment programs following company documentation protocols.
• Maintain communications with internal and external partners regarding the progress of injured athletes and inform them of Athletico services and locations for continuum of care.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree graduate from an Accredited CAATE Program.
• BOC Certified.
• Licensed and/or registered in accordance with state regulation for the work location.
• CPR Certification.
• First Aid Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Physical Demands

• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (e.g., while working at a desk or standing on sidelines).
• Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to travel around the location and communicate with others (verbal and written).
• Fine motor skills, including fine hand manipulation.
• Close-range, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds, including assistance with moving, lifting, and supporting athletes.

Work Environment

• Work is completed in controlled indoor environments as well as outdoors with exposure to various weather elements.
• Medium level of work-related stress due to the responsibility of minimizing injury risk and responding to medical emergencies.
• Some weekend and after-business-hours work required.

Pay

Full-time (40-hour) salaried position with a base pay range of USD $52,000.00 to $55,000.00 per year. Individual base pay depends on factors such as role complexity, job duties, relevant experience, and skills, in addition to primary work location. Additional pay such as incentives, GAP, overtime, and stipends may apply subject to program rules.
