Duties
- Conduct assessments of athletes' injuries, illnesses, and medical histories.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for athletic injuries and conditions.
- Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and the Head Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care to athletes.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and proper nutrition.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of injuries and treatments.
- Coordinate medical referrals and follow-up care for athletes as needed.
- Conduct pre-participation physical examinations for athletes.
- Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
- Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and best practices in athletic training.
- Assist with the development and implementation of sports medicine policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to student athletic trainers and interns.
- Participate in athletic department meetings and professional development activities.
- Adhere to NCAA regulations and uphold ethical standards in athletic training practices.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited, professional athletic training education program with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training (Master’s degree preferred).
- BOC certification.
- PA State Licensed and healthcare provider CPR certification.
- Strong writing skills, computer skills, and ability to work nontraditional hours and travel when necessary.
