Athletic Trainer - assistant

Duties

  • Conduct assessments of athletes' injuries, illnesses, and medical histories.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for athletic injuries and conditions.
  • Collaborate with coaches, physicians, and the Head Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care to athletes.
  • Educate athletes on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and proper nutrition.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of injuries and treatments.
  • Coordinate medical referrals and follow-up care for athletes as needed.
  • Conduct pre-participation physical examinations for athletes.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Stay current with advancements in sports medicine and best practices in athletic training.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of sports medicine policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to student athletic trainers and interns.
  • Participate in athletic department meetings and professional development activities.
  • Adhere to NCAA regulations and uphold ethical standards in athletic training practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited, professional athletic training education program with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in athletic training (Master’s degree preferred).
  • BOC certification.
  • PA State Licensed and healthcare provider CPR certification.
  • Strong writing skills, computer skills, and ability to work nontraditional hours and travel when necessary.
