Athletic Injury Care

Provide injury evaluation and treatment for athletic injuries at practice and competition.
Promote prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for all athletes.
Maintain the athletic training room and its inventory.
Determine which activities have the highest injury risk and provide on-site supervision of those activities with input from supervisors.

Instructional Strategies

Provide instruction that aligns with the district's educational philosophy, goals, and objectives.
Instruct and supervise students in a manner conducive to learning and appropriate to their age and maturity.

Student Growth and Development

Be available to students and/or parents for educational purposes during and outside the school day when required or requested.
Collaborate with other professionals to coordinate actions in the athletic training room and classroom with the campus goals and individual student needs.

Communication

Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, fellow professionals, and the medical community.
Provide required written communications in a timely manner.

Professional Growth and Development

Participate in professional development programs to enhance job performance using innovative methods.
Show current knowledge, understanding, and skills in athletic training and the subject taught.

Safety

Maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills under stress.
Communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret procedures, and analyze data for decision-making.
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules, practicing safety training, wearing personal protective equipment, reporting incidents, and proactively improving workplace safety.
