Great Hearts Academies is a non-profit charter management organization (CMO) that operates classical, preparatory, K-12 public charter schools. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director to determine the specific needs, priorities, and strategy for all aspects of school athletics, including planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Provide observation and coaching support to improve coaching practice and student-athlete achievement.
- Plan, manage, and execute day-to-day athletic operations for 30+ teams and 300+ student-athletes, including:
- Ensuring student-athletes are properly registered, with current medical documentation.
- Updating the community via the school website and social media platforms, including maintenance of game calendars, gameday information, and athletic photos.
- Preparing and maintaining gym and field facilities for flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track & field practices and games.
- Supervising gameday operations for all home games, including set-up, coordinating with visiting coaches and referees, tracking attendance and game revenue, monitoring fan behavior, and post-game tear-down.
- Inputting and certifying rosters with various leagues to document student-athlete requirements.
- Monitoring facility and equipment use throughout the school day by student-athletes.
- Scheduling non-district/league games for both middle school and high school teams.
- Coordinating the design, order, and distribution of Team Store spirit apparel and team uniforms.
- Inventorying all athletic equipment and uniforms.
- Serving as a substitute coach in the event of a coach’s absence.
- Designing and overseeing a successful summer sports program.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents and student-athletes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass fingerprint background clearance.
- Physical functions include standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 25 pounds.
- May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
