The Athletic Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of athletic and recreational programs that serve the Tribal community. This position assists with organizing activities, promoting participation, and ensuring programs operate safely and effectively. Employees must not supervise or participate in any program where they receive financial compensation, including serving as a coach or team member. Additional duties may be assigned to support departmental goals and community needs.
About the Role
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and promoting athletic and recreational programs, events, camps, clinics, and community activities.
- Help prepare event schedules, maintain equipment and supply inventory, and ensure facilities are clean, safe, and event-ready.
- Support community outreach efforts through promotions and communication to encourage participation.
- Aid in concessions, pool and gym events, cash handling, and other program operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and promoting athletic and recreational programs, events, camps, clinics, and community activities.

Core Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a certification in National Alliance for Youth Sports League Director Trainer Certification within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
- Must possess certification of “Mandatory Reporter Training” or obtain within the first week of employment.
- Must possess First Aid Certification, including CPR and Life Saving, or obtain certification within ninety (90) days of official date of hire in this position.
- Must possess “ServSafe Certification” or obtain within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting for extended periods.
