Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated ATC Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City, HI.
Accountabilities
- Performs routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned Signaling system equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
- Observes system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
- Performs troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults.
- Produces accurate maintenance records, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system.
- Analyzes log files to troubleshoot complex to provide required corrective action and improvement.
- Drives work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty.
- Supports the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site.
- Supports the preparation of system performance maintenance technical report.
- Produces work blocks and Job hazard analysis pertained to planned work.
- Conducts job and safety briefing as required.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electromechanical controlled systems and equipment
- 1-3 years’ experience in electronic equipment maintenance
- Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment
- Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and the rules governing the protection of traffic
- Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc., and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of system
- A team player with a strong analytical mind and ability to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision
- Must have a valid US state's driver's license
Desired Skills/Knowledge
- 2 years’ experience with maintenance and troubleshooting faults on electrical, mechanical and electromechanical controlled systems
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision
- Able to work under pressure during intense periods of activities
- Able to demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities
Education
- Associate Degree in Electrical engineering or related field OR equivalent technical experience
