Astronomy Associate (Part-time) Instructor Pool 2026 - 2027

About the role

A vacancy exists in the Family Violence Unit of the Adult and Adolescent Services Division of Social Services. Applicants are advised to apply promptly.

Responsibilities

• Working with court-ordered domestic violence offenders
• Conducting intakes
• Scheduling and conducting face-to-face interviews with clients
• Attending court hearings and providing sworn testimony regarding the case/client
• Maintaining ongoing contact with the State's Attorney's Office, Parole and Probation, Referral Sources, and other parties involved in court cases

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate in arts degree in a social or behavioral science
• Two years of experience in individual, group, or family counseling or in intake and referral work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis

Conditions of Employment

• Physical and environmental conditions: Sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, lifting or other restricted physical activity. May require traveling between work sites.
• Medical examination and employment background investigation: Required.
