Assyrian Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring an Assyrian-English Phone Interpreter to work remotely from your home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Assyrian and English speakers.
• Speak clearly and politely in both languages.
• Maintain a professional demeanor during interpreting sessions.
• Stay calm and neutral during emotionally charged calls.
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Assyrian and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive topics and emergencies.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
• Must be able to operate a variety of devices and software.
• Must be physically capable of operating a keyboard and mouse.

Schedule
