Responsibilities

  • Execute audits, review work, and consult with leaders and client personnel to complete assurance engagements.
  • Supervise associate level professionals and delegate engagement responsibilities.
  • Communicate and resolve issues during audit engagements with support from the engagement manager.
  • Develop and execute audit strategies from planning to reporting.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to drive satisfaction.
  • Research, understand, and apply complex accounting concepts and auditing procedures.
  • Draft financials and report audit findings (both verbally and in writing).
  • Motivate and mentor associates by providing training, regular feedback, and career guidance.
  • Champion sustainable workplace practices by supporting remote-first operations, promoting paperless workflows, and aligning with BPM’s values.

Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting across various industries including entertainment, real estate, technology, manufacturing, and consumer products/retail.
  • CPA certification or CPA in progress preferred.
  • Experience auditing complex accounts such as inventory, revenue, equity/stock options, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong desire to continuously learn.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to synthesize information and develop clear, thoughtful, actionable deliverables.
  • Understanding of client needs, identification of problem root causes, and implementation of pragmatic solutions.
  • Ability to manage audit engagements from start to finish, working directly with clients to ensure successful completion and client satisfaction.

Pay

$95,000 - $125,000/year. The salary range is for candidates in the Santa Monica area who meet the minimum requirements of the position. Candidates outside of the Santa Monica area, who do not meet the minimum requirements, or who exceed them are encouraged to apply. A recruiter will provide a specific range based on your location and qualifications.
