About the role
Yeo & Yeo Senior Accountants in our Assurance service line are responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects, including the completion of assignments and tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising and directing team members in meeting client and personal development expectations.
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage client assignments and projects
- Complete and review audit programs
- Conduct single audits
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency or promptness to achieve goals
- Complete assigned tasks accurately within budget and meet all deadlines
- Provide supervision to staff and interns on audits
- Run mid-large size audits from start to finish with little assistance
- Review staff work papers before partner review
- Become the main client contact on the majority of your jobs
- Attend and present at board presentations
- Become actively involved with or highly proficient in a technical niche
- Develop an understanding of the firm's mission and vision
- Focus personal development on evaluation competencies with Career Advocate
- Ask for coaching and feedback from a variety of people
- Integrate others' feedback into own behavior
- Independently research and develop answers before asking others for advice
- Seek out learnings from past engagements and, with guidance, apply them to current and future engagements
- Effective and efficient use of time and dedication during busy season
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Complete Dale Carnegie course or similar training
- Identify professional goals in conjunction with the strategic plan of the firm
- Work with Career Advocate to create and pursue a plan to achieve own development
- Offer accurate and effective coaching and mentoring to others
- Seek out, accept, and utilize constructive feedback
- Actively develop expertise in a particular industry group or specialty
- Develop an understanding of the team's objective and how your role contributes to success
- Interact with others in a collegial, positive, and respectful way
- Make a concerted effort to get to know other team members
- Proactively seek coaching to manage conflict and make necessary adjustments based on feedback
- Work with Principals and staff across multiple offices
- Work independently and as an effective team member to complete project components and assigned tasks
- Demonstrate respect toward all people and work to understand differences when interacting with others
- Encourage junior colleagues to ask questions whenever necessary
- Help team members complete tasks
- Manage own conflicts promptly and positively
- Participate in firm-sponsored events
- Commit own talents and energy to one or more community organizations
- Use LinkedIn profile and/or preferred social media to actively engage network through company and industry updates
- Attend business development training offered through Yeo & Yeo
- Actively participate in business development meetings
- Intelligently speak about the firm’s mission and services
- Participate in community networking opportunities through chamber or similar group
- Identify key referral sources and work to build a professional network
- Annually develop at least $2,000 in new business or additional services
- Strive to generate additional business for Yeo & Yeo and its affiliates through cross-selling
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting or related curriculum
- Active CPA accreditation
- Experience as a Staff Accountant in Public Accounting or equivalent experience
