Asst. Wrestling Coach

Responsibilities

• Teach wrestling fundamentals, strategies, and sportsmanship.
• Oversee competition level assigned by head coach.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, meets, travel, and related events.
• Attend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, meets (home and away), and team functions.
• Support the head coach in planning practices and conducting skill instruction.
• Maintain a safe environment and report injuries promptly to appropriate staff.
• Complete required paperwork, attendance logs, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.
• Attend coach meetings and required professional development as assigned by the athletic department.

Qualifications

• ISBE, ASEP, or NFHS certification required.
• Previous high school head wrestling coach experience preferred.
