Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in creating a pleasant and hospitable work environment and maintaining good customer relationships.
- Be knowledgeable about and ensure compliance with accounting, employee, and store policies.
- Aid the manager in achieving sales, production, and expense budget goals while maintaining profitability.
- Ensure all products are moved from the backroom and displayed on the sales floor.
- Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants as needed.
- Assist in training, directing, and supervising new and existing personnel, including retraining as necessary.
- Assist in evaluating store personnel, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
- Schedule sales associates and unpaid staff to ensure full coverage in the store at all times, including assigning breaks, vacations, etc.
- In the absence of the manager, post weekly work schedules for all store personnel.
- Complete payroll information biweekly for all store personnel, noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc., and submit to the finance department.
- In the absence of the manager, attend manager meetings and inform store personnel of new policies and directives.
- Maintain safety measures consistent with The Salvation Army policy and government regulations, reporting any hazards, property damage, or personal injuries.
- Support the work therapy program by demonstrating professional conduct and work habits.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in sales.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable DMV record.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate a team.
