About the role
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is recruiting full-time faculty members at the Assistant Professor level in the appointment (non-tenure) stream. The qualified applicant will be actively involved in patient care; medical student, resident, and fellow teaching; and orthopaedic research as determined by the Chair and associated division chief.

Qualifications
- A medical degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency program in a primary care specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Pediatrics)
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship
- Board certification in primary specialty, with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine or eligibility with a plan to obtain within six months
- Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Proficiency in musculoskeletal ultrasound and familiarity with orthobiologics
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, collaborate within a multidisciplinary performance team, and thrive in a high-volume clinical environment
Requirements
- Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest and ability in clinical care and teaching, and possess strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
- A record of scholarly publications and presentations, along with evidence of interest in and involvement in research, is expected
Qualifications
- Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor (0–5 years of experience)
