About the Role
The University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) is seeking highly productive educators and scholars for tenure-track positions in Undergraduate and/or Graduate programs. Applicants should have an active or emerging program of peer-reviewed and externally funded research, with a commitment to mentoring and advancing their research at U-M. Responsibilities
- Blend demonstrated teaching, research/scholarship, and service experience in Undergraduate and/or Graduate programs.
- Develop and maintain an active or emerging program of peer-reviewed and externally funded research.
- Secure extramural funding to support research programs.
- Mentor and serve as a role model for research development within the School of Nursing.
- Promote UMSN’s Declaration of Values, including respectful communication, empowerment, and integrity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications for All Ranks
- PhD in nursing or a highly related field.
- Pre/postdoctoral fellowship highly desirable.
- For nursing PhDs: current MI nursing license or eligibility for licensure in Michigan.
- Compliance with all health requirements, including BLS certifications, orientations, and site-specific policies prior to start date.
- Record of first-author, data-based, peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated competence in scholarly activity.

- Record of excellence in teaching.
- Distinguished record of scholarly attainment in scientific investigation, publication, and research utilization.
- Reputation for outstanding achievements and recognized contributions in the field.

- Sustained record of excellence in teaching, including experience with advanced students.
- Sustained and growing record of scholarly eminence advancing the frontier of knowledge.

- Documented external evaluation recognizing leadership and quality of research activities, publications, and contributions to the profession.
- Continuing record of recognized accomplishments in academic, professional, and community service.
Schedule
