ASST DIRECTOR OF NURSING - YADKIN NURSING CARE CENTER

About the role

Liberty Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services promotes a challenging yet rewarding opportunity in a caring environment. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).

Responsibilities

• Prepares a work schedule for all nursing personnel.
• Visits patients to ensure maximum care and communicates with staff and physicians about daily nursing operations.
• Serves as a liaison between staff nursing and nurse management.
• Makes decisions regarding nursing and unit problems.
• Supervises and evaluates work performance of nursing staff.
• Monitors the Quality Assurance Program of the facility.
• Assigns duties to professional and non-professional nursing personnel.
• Supervises the accuracy and maintenance of all nursing records and medical treatments.
• Acts as the Infection Control Nurse for the facility.
• Makes weekly assessments of decubiti and reviews monthly decubiti reports.
• Handles disciplinary problems involving nursing personnel in the facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with a current and valid RN license in North Carolina.
• Two (2) years of experience; prefer at least one (1) year experience in skilled nursing.
• Willing to be 'on call' per rotation basis for the facility.
• Genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
• Ability to make decisions regarding nursing and unit problems.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff, ensuring appropriate and timely completion of work assignments.
• Must read, understand, and follow personnel, department, and facility procedures, and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements.
• Ability to work well under pressure, problem solve, and perform various jobs.
