About the role
The Assistant Nursing Home Administrator oversees the daily operations of all departments in the absence of the Administrator of the Skilled Nursing Center. They manage personnel issues and participate in budget formulation, safety programs, and policy development.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily operations in absence of Administrator
- Personnel management and related issues
- Facilitation of departmental budget formulations
- Participation in resident/staff safety programs
- Active involvement in Quality Improvement Programs (QIP)
- Involvement in development of policies and procedures including HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, and electronic health record transactions
- Active participation in Unannounced Monitoring Review (UMR) and Department of Health (DOH) surveys
- Implementation of assigned duties considering the age-specific needs of residents
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related discipline or business/administration
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare delivery systems with two (2) years under direct supervision of an Administrator required
- Long-term care supervisory experience required
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
- Working knowledge of QAPI and its implementation in a skilled nursing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in dealing with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and external agencies
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations and associated survey processes
- Valid NHA license to practice Nursing Home Administration
