About the role
The CFO Services practice within Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) is a growing business offering excellent opportunities for career advancement and leadership development. Professionals in this role work closely with private equity firms to help improve operating results at their portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing financial models and strategies to support client needs.
- Managing and analyzing financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
- Assisting in the implementation of new systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Presenting findings and recommendations to senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting, with a preference for CPA certification.
- Experience working with team members through time-sensitive projects, structuring work plans, and managing processes to completion.
- Strong financial modeling experience and a solid understanding of financial statements, particularly in developing 13-week cash flows.
- Experience with Tableau and think-cell software.
- Treasury/cash management experience.
- Systems implementation experience.
Qualifications
- 4-7+ years of relevant work experience in areas such as Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Strategy, Treasury, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Corporate Finance, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited 4-year institution.
- Strong expertise with data and analytics tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, etc.
- Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time, as needed.

Pay
The salary range is $90,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on various factors including education, experience, skills, and location. A&M also offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
