About the role
Our Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA), SWI (Seat Wire Integration) Electrical Design organization has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Wiring Design and Installation Engineer in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role will focus heavily on 787 seats and interiors, helping to define the future of commercial aerospace with innovative ideas that advance our culture of safety and quality.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., cable routing and geometry, brackets) for our diverse portfolio of advanced Commercial Aircraft.
- Develop and maintain critical electrical cable/wire harness installation, detail, and assembly designs, including defining the physical routing layout of wire routing throughout the airplane.
- Account for requirements such as wire supports and brackets, separation to maintain physical and functional safety, proper parts selection, and environmental impacts on wire harness systems.
- Ensure Safety and Quality are the number one priority in all designs.
- Develop and analyze engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, and shop revision requests).
- Collaborate with partners on the factory floor to ensure designs can be built efficiently and safely.
- Follow and improve documented processes, specifications, and procedures that support safe and quality design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
- Develop basic statements of work and participate in technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
- Analyze functional and physical requirements to assure the development of integrated designs and system architecture.
- Actively support critical analysis and design reviews.
- Work under the general supervision of a lead engineer and an experienced mentor to enhance technical learning and career growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- 2+ years of experience with wire harness, electrical, and/or mechanical design.
Skills
- Experience with Aviation/Aerospace interiors (preferred).
- 1+ years of experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools (preferred).
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 (preferred).
- Ability to work hands-on with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production floor support.

Pay
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $91,800 - $124,200
Schedule
This position is for 1st shift.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. This is not an Export Control position.
