Associate Vice President of Human Resources, Chief Human Resources Officer
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia, serving Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a racially diverse, culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. At Reynolds Community College, we’re investing deliberately in our employees, in how we support them, develop them, and involve them in shaping the institution’s future. Our HR team is growing into something new, and we’re hoping to find a leader who’s excited to help shape it.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, the Associate Vice President of Human Resources provides senior leadership for all aspects of the college’s HR programs. These include talent acquisition and selection, organizational communication, talent management and succession planning, workforce analysis, compensation and benefits, rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, HR information management and systems, policies, and payroll. The AVP provides senior leadership in the transformation of the college’s culture by creating, implementing, and assessing programs that improve the overall health of the organization, and serves as an advisor to the President in such matters. We are seeking a leader who will build, mentor, and retain a strong, stable team of HR professionals — one grounded in clear ownership, accountability, and follow-through. The successful candidate will be a service-oriented leader who can staff and equip the department to meet the pace and complexity of a large, comprehensive community college.
