Responsibilities
- Working with the vice president for University Relations and Enrollment, the AVPEM will provide leadership and strategic analysis in the development, oversight, and integration of all aspects of enrollment management including student recruitment goals.
- Create strategies and division-wide initiatives that effectively support the recruitment and retention of a diverse and inclusive student body in a manner that complements the University’s culture and core values.
- Lead the development of strategies that leverage financial-aid awards in a manner that enhances the overall student body and expands opportunities for timely degree attainment.
- Collaborate with deans and other academic leaders to produce short- and long-term enrollment goals and effective recruitment strategies aimed at optimizing enrollment.
- Develop strategies to engage faculty and other university personnel in the execution of enrollment initiatives.
- Provide comprehensive statistical and data-informed analyses necessary to make sound policy decisions supporting new enrollment markets while sustaining and growing existing markets.
- Analyze data and utilize predictive and statistical modeling to create and meet enrollment goals.
- Work collaboratively with the associate vice president of University Marketing and Communications to establish and implement marketing objectives and plans.
- Analyze relevant data and market trends to inform planning, decision-making, reporting, and management.
- Keep each school and college informed of trends and shifts in area demographics.
- Serve as an expert in changing regulations, evolving trends, and best practices in admissions and higher education to proactively implement necessary changes so that the university achieves enrollment goals.
- Evaluate and improve the practices of the student-enrollment experience, including timely, effective and positive engagement with students and families throughout the entirety of their experiences with admissions, financial aid and registration.
- Optimize use of available federal, state, and institutional resources in the recruitment and retention of students while ensuring campus compliance with all federal and state agencies’ regulations and policies.
- Establish an environment of encouragement, mentoring and support of a diverse set of ideas.
- Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.
- Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.
Qualifications
- A master’s degree or a combination of a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience.
- 5 years of progressively responsible and demonstrated success in higher education enrollment management, including marketing, with at least 5 years as a supervisor of professional staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across university divisions to advance a unified recruitment strategy.
- Prior work with the strategic planning process, including development and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including expertise in presenting publicly and speaking on behalf of the university.
