Responsibilities
- Perform routine wellness exams and preventive care
- Administer vaccinations and annual health evaluations
- Diagnose and treat common medical conditions
- Evaluate potential breeding dogs and participate in breeding program recommendations
- Perform routine surgical procedures, including spays, neuters, and mass removals
- Perform basic dental procedures as needed
- Coincordinate specialty referrals when appropriate
- Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college
- Current Ohio Veterinary License in good standing or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong knowledge of canine medicine and preventive care
- Proficiency in routine surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Qualifications
- Two or more years of veterinary experience preferred, but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
