Your Role

As part of our veterinary team, you’ll play a central role in bringing Bideawee’s mission to life. Every day offers a chance to use your skills to heal, comfort, and advocate for the animals who need you most. Make a direct and visible impact for pets and the people who care for them.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality medical and surgical care for shelter pets.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure every animal receives the best chance for a successful outcome.
  • Contribute to population health and help shape protocols that keep our shelters safe, sanitary, and thriving.
  • Guide and mentor staff and volunteers, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Partner with leadership to grow our programs and continuously improve how we care for animals and their people.
  • Represent Bideawee’s mission in the community and support outreach initiatives that keep pets healthy and families together.
  • Bring new ideas and best practices in veterinary medicine to our team.

Compensation & Schedule

This is a 3-day per week part-time position with an hourly rate of $125/hr, commensurate with experience. Part-time employees of Bideawee enjoy generous amounts of Paid Time Off, 403(b) with matching employer contributions, and discount services and pet food.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates should have at least 4 years of experience as a veterinarian.
  • Graduate with a DVM or VMD from a US accredited veterinary school.
  • NYS veterinary license.
  • DEA license or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Surgical experience necessary.
  • Able to perform soft tissue surgeries including but not limited to spays and neuters of dogs and cats.
