Associate Veterinarian

About the role

At Onslow Animal Hospital, we are seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our team. We have been serving the Jacksonville community for 43 years, providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.

Responsibilities

• Care for a variety of small animal patients under the supervision of the hospital's veterinarians
• Perform routine and complex medical procedures
• Provide preventive care and health education to pet owners
• Participate in hospital operations and team meetings
• Collaborate with the support staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient care

Requirements

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an ACVIM accredited institution
• Current North Carolina license to practice veterinary medicine
• Experience in general small animal practice
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Passing scores on the North Carolina State Board Exam
• Knowledge of current veterinary practices and technologies
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Skills

• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in computer software, including electronic medical records systems
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
