Associate Traffic Engineer

About the role

Pennoni Associates is currently seeking an Associate Traffic Engineer to work in our Haddon Heights, NJ office. The position involves assisting with complex traffic engineering tasks, leading and developing traffic studies and highway occupancy permits, signing and pavement marking design, and assisting with the development of Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing traffic studies and highway occupancy permits
• Signed and pavement marking design
• Aiding in the development of Maintenance of Traffic schemes, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans
• Aiding in the development of Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Impact Studies (TIS)
• ADA Design and Curb Ramp Design NJDOT Access Management, TSM&O and Complete Streets Initiatives
• Aiding in the development of project Cost Estimates and Specifications
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to technical staff (e.g., CADD)
• Experience with traffic-related software packages (Synchro, HCM, VISSIM, SIDRA)
• Experience with NJDOT and similar public sector clients (Counties, Cities, Townships)
• Developing client relationships with Public and Private Clients

Requirements

• Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master’s degree a plus
• Minimum years of work experience: 4-8 years
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Suite; Microstation, Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with InRoads and AutoCAD a plus
• Construction consultation and utility coordination experience a plus
• Licenses: PE, (PTOE desirable)
