About the role

The primary responsibility of the Associate Technician (AR) is the preparation, cleaning, and racking of lenses to be processed through the wash and/or hard coating machines. The employee will adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements during all operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and prepare lenses for coating, including:
    • Separate envelopes and group by coating type and date.
    • Verify information on the envelope is accurate.
    • Place envelopes in the appropriate bin and identify any special instructions.
    • Clean and inspect each lens for scratches and other conditions; log all findings.
  • Rack lenses onto appropriate tooling and process through cleaning and/or coating machines.
  • Perform daily and weekly upkeep of equipment: wash lines, coating lines, ovens, etc.
  • Ensure daily supplies are stocked and sandblast machine parts as needed.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follow all company and manufacturer policies, including attendance and safety rules.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA-protected information.
  • Assist others to meet deadlines and maintain an even workload.
  • Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time.
  • Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance to less experienced employees.
  • Attend in-house or sponsored training meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires exposure to hazardous substances/chemicals and safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, orient to detail, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
