Associate Tax Counsel - Hedge Fund - NYC

About the role

The Associate Tax Counsel will play a key role in providing tax-related legal guidance and support, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and advising on tax matters to support the company's objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on tax-related matters to support business operations and decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in tax planning and structuring for various transactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address tax implications of business activities.
• Support the preparation and review of tax filings and documentation.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
• Work with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
• Identify and mitigate potential tax risks for the company.

Requirements

• Law degree and admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Strong background in tax law, ideally within the asset management industry.
• 3-5 years of Big Four or Law Firm experience with a focus on asset management tax.
• Experience advising on federal, state, and international tax regulations.
• Knowledge of tax planning, compliance, and reporting processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Pay

Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $250,000.
