Responsibilities

  • Direct design of the following civil/structural design components in support of the development of bid/construction packages for substation projects: substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, site development, oil spill containment design, design of retaining walls, design of concrete and masonry control shelters, and fire-walls.
  • Perform design calculations and develop construction-grade engineering design drawings, independently, on a regular basis, under the supervision of a licensed civil engineer.
  • Experience designing structures and foundations to industry codes and standards under seismic loading conditions is preferred.
  • Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected to be part of the work, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.
  • Comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree in Civil-Engineering with 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Mathcad software.
  • Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software, (preferred).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation software preferred.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.

Pay

The pay range for this job level is $59,150.00 - $106,925.00. For more details, see www.leidos.com.

Schedule

Preferred location is Portland, OR. If remote, ideally candidate would reside in either Pacific or Mountain Time Zones.
