Associate Sterile Processing Technician - Evenings
About the role
The Sterile Processing department at Sanford Health helps prevent surgical infections and complications for patients across the health system's broad footprint. Located at Bismarck Med Ctr, this department works closely with hospital staff to ensure clean, safe, and sterile instruments and equipment are available for patient care.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, inspected, stored, distributed, and reprocessed in a timely manner
- Follows all standard operating procedures
- Understands and demonstrates all policies and infection prevention and control guidelines
- Able to recognize potential and actual processing errors and follow-up according to procedure or management instruction
- Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintains continuity in workflow
- Utilizes applicable inventory systems in use
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Prior experience in central processing or healthcare environment is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
- Strong phone and computer skills, including ability to navigate the internet and use handheld devices
- Certified in Central Service Technology (CRCST) within 24 months of date of hire is strongly preferred

Schedule
The shift is 8 hours - evening shifts, Monday-Friday from 3pm-11:30pm. The schedule includes working a Saturday and Sunday every 5-6 weekends and 1 holiday per year. No experience necessary – as an Associate Sterile Processing Technician, you will receive on-the-job training to prepare, clean, process, and store supplied and surgical instruments for patient care.
Pay
$16.50 - $23.50 per hour, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus available for eligible applicants. Daily Pay is also available.
