Job Description
The Tactical Space Systems Group (Group 96) develops technologies and prototypes to enhance the performance and resilience of U.S. space systems and to provide flexible new space capabilities to the U.S. Government. The Group executes both large-scale system prototypes including satellite payloads and ground systems, as well as earlier stage technology development and demonstration programs with partner groups across the laboratory.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or related field
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience will also be considered
- Previous experience in hardware development for field applications
- Interest in development of high reliability hardware for space applications
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to support work-related travel up to 10%
Qualifications
- Broad background of life experience in hardware engineering, broadly defined
- Ownership of delivery of a hardware subsystem for a prototyping effort
- Focus on engineering work in their own discipline
- Collaboration with others across the team to execute design, build and test activities to deliver their subsystem

Pay
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400-$140,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400-$182,200
