Associate Sports Information Director

About the role

The Associate Sports Information Director will serve as the primary media contact for teams as assigned, assist with administering all media services for the Athletic Department, manage media relations events and game-day activities, maintain and update the athletic website, and provide support for the Athletic Department's communication and public relations initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary media contact for teams as assigned.
• Assists with administering all media services for the Athletic Department, including designing and editing media guides and game programs, coordinating interviews, producing press releases and game notes, and recording statistical information.
• Manages media relations events and game-day activities.
• Maintains and updates the athletic website to include scores, rosters, schedules, articles, press releases, statistics, and game notes.
• Provides conference offices with required information for weekly releases and announcements.
• Affords support to the Athletic Department in its communication and public relations initiatives with the Office of Public Affairs.
• Assists with the preparation and editing of scripts and publications for the Athletic Department special events.
• Attends home and away games for selected teams.
• Complies with all NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.

Requirements

This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of two years experience in sports information or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

$80,000 - $92,000

Schedule

35 scheduled hours per week
