About Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital: opened in 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital, now a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. About the role

Under general supervision, the Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. Responsibilities may include IV starts, patient prep, monitoring hemodynamics, operating equipment, documenting procedures, vascular access site management, and providing patient/family education.

Requirements

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education required.
• Interventional Radiology: completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Cath Lab/EP Lab: graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program.
• Clinical experience required through graduation from one of the above listed programs.
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab, or IR is required.
• Certifications (required upon hire or within specified timeframe):
  • CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technologist) – IR (Upon Hire Required).
  • CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) ARRT – IR (1 year upon hire required) OR CRT-Cardiovascular Imaging (CI) ARRT – IR (1 year upon hire required).
  • CRT-Radiographer (R)-ARRT (Cath Lab & EP Lab – Upon Hire Required) OR CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS)-CCI (Cath Lab & EP Lab – Upon Hire Required) OR CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES)-CCI (Cath Lab & EP Lab – Upon Hire Required).
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-AHA (Cath Lab & EP Lab – 180 days required).
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association OR American Red Cross (Upon Hire Required).
