About the Role
Dash seeks an Associate Software Engineer or Software Engineer (Full Stack) to develop and maintain software solutions for lab automation and bioanalysis workflows. This on-site role in Waltham, MA offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software and physical lab systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers to build tools that directly impact drug development, progressing from guided tasks to independently owning end-to-end features.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust software features across the full stack (Node.js/React).
- Understand lab operations to effectively integrate software solutions with real-world lab instruments and automation hardware.
- Architect, implement, and optimize APIs and services to support complex data processing and lab workflows.
- Build and refine responsive, intuitive user interfaces for lab scientists using React, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Work with relational databases to ensure data is captured accurately, stored efficiently, and highly accessible.
- Actively participate in code reviews, write clean and documented code, and contribute to unit and integration testing.
- Independently debug and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment, assisting peers when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or other science/engineering discipline with demonstrated software development experience.
- 0–4 years of professional software development experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Exposure to React and Node.js (or similar frameworks).
- Familiarity with SQL and relational database concepts.
- Strong desire to troubleshoot complex problems and learn new technologies quickly.
- Desire to work on-site with a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers.
