About the role
As the Associate Software Engineer, you will contribute to building and maintaining reliable software that helps Kinective deliver intelligent banking solutions, enabling financial institutions to operate more efficiently and serve their customers with confidence.
What you’ll own
- Build and maintain software: Implement modular, maintainable code in software applications by following technical design documents and sprint stories. Maintain existing product lines through functional enhancements, bug fixes, code optimization, and related improvements with appropriate guidance. Create and update unit or integration tests, investigate defects, and escalate risks or blockers early.
- Collaborate through Agile delivery: Participate in planning, refinement, estimation, stand-ups, retrospectives, and code reviews to support predictable delivery. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical partners to clarify requirements, share progress, and deliver solutions. Assume ownership of assigned feature stories and tasks while seeking feedback from senior engineers and the System Architect.
- Learn and apply engineering practices: Build practical knowledge of the software development life cycle, Agile practices, object-oriented design, microservices, and relational and non-relational databases. Adapt to new technologies in support of project needs and direction from senior engineers and the System Architect. Develop solution-focused proofs of concept or technical evaluations when requested and communicate appropriate recommendations.
- Support quality, documentation, and customers: Keep technical documentation current as requirements and sprint deliverables change. Provide second-level support for technical support staff by helping investigate customer issues and contributing to root-cause resolution. Share knowledge, participate in cross-training, and contribute to a respectful, collaborative team environment.
