On-siteEngineeringFull-time

Acron Aviation designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems that support safety-critical flight operations across commercial and military aviation. Within Avionics, the Surveillance product line develops and sustains systems that enable aircraft awareness, collision avoidance, and airspace interoperability. Our portfolio includes TCAS, Mode S transponders, ADS-B, and integrated surveillance solutions deployed across commercial, military, and rotorcraft platforms. This work is performed in highly regulated environments and demands deep expertise across systems, hardware, software, and RF throughout the full product lifecycle.

About the role

As an Associate Embedded Software Engineer – Surveillance, you will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and certifying embedded real-time software used in airborne avionics systems. Working under the guidance of experienced software engineering leaders and technical mentors, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software design, coding, integration, verification, and certification activities. You will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Test Engineering, Project Engineering, and Program Management to deliver safety-critical software that complies with FAA and international certification standards. This role provides an excellent opportunity for engineers looking to build expertise in embedded systems, avionics, real-time software development, and DO-178C certification processes while working on products deployed across the global aviation industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing software for embedded systems or avionics applications.
  • Familiarity with DO-178B or DO-178C software development processes.
  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills, VxWorks, or CentOS.
  • Experience using source control and configuration management tools including Git, Bitbucket, ClearCase, or Subversion.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS.
  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Exposure to DevOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and automated testing practices.
