About the role

The Product Biochemistry team at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking an Associate Scientist to join their growing team. This role involves conducting biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments, developing methods to support both upstream and downstream functional groups, performing protein purification and modification, documenting all analytical work in an electronic laboratory notebook, communicating findings to supervisors, summarizing results for presentations and regulatory documents, and presenting findings at various meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts biochemical and biophysical characterization experiments and analyzes data to elucidate quality attributes of protein and gene therapy candidates
  • Develops methods/technologies to support both upstream and downstream functional groups
  • Performs protein purification and modification (labeling) as required to support therapeutic pre-clinical assay development and release testing
  • Documents all analytical work in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) according to a defined protocol accurately
  • Communicates any findings to supervisor
  • Sums up results in a concise format to support presentations and regulatory documents
  • Presents findings at group, departmental, and cross-functional meetings
  • Maintains and troubleshoots essential instruments in lab

Requirements

  • Experienced in the general operations of a laboratory and able to manage and organize data with managers' supervision
  • Fundamental technical competencies in key analytical protein methodologies such as Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), UV-Vis spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, CE-SDS, protein purification and basic chemistry skills as applied toward protein modifications
  • Experience on capillary electrophoresis is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are required
  • Deep understanding of biophysical/biochemical characterization of proteins, experience on analytical method development is desirable

Qualifications

  • Either a Masters or Bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Biomedical engineering or related field
  • A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant post-degree laboratory experience with an emphasis on protein characterization and conjugation

Pay

$70,300.00 - $110,100.00 annually
