About the role

Join our Pivotal Attribute Sciences team in Cambridge, MA, and help advance promising new protein-based biologic therapies. As an Associate Scientist, you will support analytical method development, protein characterization, and process development activities in a mission-driven, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross-functional team to advance late-stage biologic therapies.
  • Analyze protein-based therapies using advanced techniques such as capillary electrophoresis, liquid chromatography, and compendial methods (e.g., pH, visual appearance, turbidity).
  • Support the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of analytical methods.
  • Perform data analysis, maintain electronic notebook records, and prepare technical protocols and reports.
  • Present results at team meetings and support regulatory filings as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain HPLC/UPLC instruments at an expert level.
  • Use Empower software for custom field creation, writing instrument methods, and other tasks.

Requirements

  • Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline (Master’s with 2+ years of experience or Bachelor’s with 4+ years of experience).
  • Minimum 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (Bachelor’s) of scientific/pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Expertise in analytical chemistry or biochemistry, including hands-on experience in an industry laboratory setting.
  • Expert-level experience troubleshooting and maintaining HPLC/UPLC instruments.
  • Proficiency in Empower software (e.g., custom field creation, writing instrument methods).
  • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GMP experience.
  • Experience in a GMP environment.
