Summary Vaxcyte is looking for an energetic and talented individual to join our Analytical Development team. Primary responsibility for the incumbent will be to support the developmental activities currently ongoing in the laboratory as assigned. Essential Functions Maintain an organized and efficient laboratory workspace for the teamPrimary responsibility to oversee the organization of chemical inventory, ensuring proper labelling, storage, and compliance with safety regulationsAssist in the organization and labelling of materials stored in freezers and refrigerators, ensuring easy access, proper storage and handling of samples and materialsSupport daily lab operations, including sample inventory and sample shipmentAssist in the collection, labelling, and preparation of samples for analysisPrepare reagents and solutions according to established protocolsPerform routine analytical testing by following established protocols, ensuring accurate execution of tests and documentation for proteins and carbohydrates including:Microplate assays including enzymatic assays and colorimetric assays such as Bradford, Lowry, etc.HPLC – Especially SEC and RP-HPLC with experience in ChemstationCE and iCIEF – Especially with Protein Simple or PA-800 systemsKeep accurate and detailed records of experimentsMaintain an accurate inventory of chemicals and reagents, tracking usage and expiration datesCoordinate the ordering and restocking of laboratory supplies as neededCollaborate within a team environment to support and further team objectivesDemonstrate flexibility and effectively complete assigned tasks with high quality and in a timely manner Requirements BS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry preferred, Organic/Biochemistry considered, with 2–4 years of relevant lab experienceIdeal candidate will have a background in analytical chemistry principles and hands-on experience with modern analytical instrumentation commonly used in the analysis and characterization of drug candidates. Candidates with other scientific disciplines may be considered based on relevant experienceExperience in chemical and biological assays such as colorimetric/fluorometric microplate assays and HPLCExperience working with protein analysis – UV-Vis, CE, Bradford, etc.Experience working with carbohydrate analysis and SEC-MALS a plusUnderstanding of basic principles of analytical method development/validation/qualification conceptsAttention to detail and excellent skills in record keeping/documentation; critical thinking and ability to analyze dataStrong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formatsAbility to work under supervision and independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and collaborate effectively with other team members; eagerness and ability to learn and understand new concepts with easeOther combinations of education and/or experience may be considered. Reports to: Senior Manager, Analytical Development Location: Work Arrangement (may be adjusted based on business needs, job responsibilities, or changes to company policy): Onsite (minimum of 4 days per week onsite) Compensation The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component. Salary Range: $105,000 - $123,000 (SF Bay Area). Salary ranges for non-California locations may vary. Relocation: This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.
