About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist I to join the Product Development team supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing product development efforts. This role is hands-on in the lab, with a strong emphasis on supporting verification and validation (V&V) studies, QC method development, and troubleshooting activities by executing experiments and generating high-quality data.

Responsibilities

  • Execute V&V studies (e.g., precision, sensitivity, linearity, stability) following established protocols
  • Support development, optimization, and validation of QC methods used across raw material, in-process, and finished goods testing
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges via root-cause analysis and implement corrective strategies
  • Generate, document, and critically analyze experimental data, applying sound statistical practices to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and traceability
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and experimental documentation in compliance with quality system requirements
  • Support product and process transfer activities from R&D to Manufacturing, including execution of transfer protocols and preparation of supporting documentation
  • Assist in authoring and revising SOPs, work instructions, and validation protocols/reports
  • Support execution of experiments for new product introduction (NPI), including prototype and process evaluation activities
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate completion of deliverables
  • Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and consumables, and ensure ongoing compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or M.S. in a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience executing laboratory experiments in a biotech or life sciences setting
  • Experience with basic assay techniques such as immunoassays or molecular biology methods
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform routine laboratory tasks with consistency and accuracy to generate high-quality, reproducible data
  • Ability to independently execute established protocols and experiments, exercising sound technical judgment and escalating novel issues appropriately
  • Strong record-keeping and documentation skills, with attention to experimental details, observations, deviations, and results
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Skills

  • Experience with immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Simoa) and molecular assays (PCR, qPCR)
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and workflows
  • Data analysis skills using Excel, JMP, or similar statistical/analysis tools

Pay

The base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $97,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
